In today’s Tech Bytes, a wide-ranging plan to protect children online. The European Union is reportedly proposing a ban that would prevent children under 15 from accessing social media, video-sharing platforms, AI chatbots, and online games. The complex plan is expected to take months to finalize.

Next, the Justice Department is accusing two Chinese companies of using Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency platform, to funnel money to Iran. Officials claim the companies sold Iranian oil on the black market in China and sent the proceeds to help fund Iran’s military. Binance has since removed both companies from its platform.

Finally, Meta is expanding its subscription offerings for businesses, creators, and so-called AI-powered users. The service, called MetaOne, provides new AI tools and other premium features across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The most expensive plan costs about $500 per month.
