The Crime Investigation Department (CID) organised a three-day training programme on ‘Cyber Security and Cyber Hygiene’ for investigation officers. The programme concluded at the DGP’s office at the CID headquarters on Saturday.
CID Director General of Police Ravi Shankar Ayyanar said the programme was aimed at strengthening the capabilities of police personnel in investigating cybercrimes and promoting effective cyber security and cyber hygiene practices.
Sandeep Madulkar, CEO of Sytech Labs and a cyber security expert, was the resource person. He provided insights into cybercrime investigation, emerging challenges and modern cyber security practices.
The training covered the latest technologies in cybercrime investigation, ‘digital arrest’ frauds, different modus operandi, information gathering, serving legal notices, collection of digital evidence, investigation of social media-related crimes and financial frauds.
The participants were also trained in web intelligence, IP address tracing and analysis, website and email investigation, VoIP call investigation, malware analysis, digital forensics and forensic tools. Sessions were also held on Dark Web investigation, anonymity in cybercrimes, blockchain technology and cryptocurrency-related investigations.
CID Superintendents of Police from different wings across the State, including R. Gangadhar, P. Parameshwar Reddy, S.V. Sridhar Rao, Adhiraj Singh Rana, S. Sridhar, K. Chakravarthy, K.V. Srinivas Rao and K. Eshwar Rao, along with other officers, participated in the programme.
