GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Grovetown Police Department teamed up with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to target child predators in and around the CSRA.
The operation was named “Operation Fourth Take” and took place from Wednesday Sept. 24 to Sunday.
During the operation, undercover agents and investigators engaged with over 1400 people through the internet and cellular apps.
Of those 1400, over 150 of them were verified adults who expressed the desire to meet with children for sexual activity, according to a report.
Deputies say that despite being told multiple times that they were speaking with a “child”, 54 people being watched in the operation stated they wished to travel to meet for sex, and several of them offered payment in exchange.
Of the 54 people, around 25 showed that they were willing to travel to pre-arranged locations that were set up by the investigators.
Six people followed through with their plans and traveled to the agreed meeting locations, where they were met with members of the Grovetown Police Department and assisting agencies instead of a “child”, according to reports.
The following people were arrested and charged with trafficking of persons for sexual servitude:
- Hitesh Chhabria, 42
- Milliken Watson, 53
- Christopher Stone, 59
- Luis Moreno, 27
- Wenjian Chen, 25
- Ryan Hanlon, 37
Along with the six arrested, 15 other people have been identified for further investigation with arrest charges likely coming at a later date, according to deputies.
