Therefore, cybersecurity experts such as María Aperador repeatedly warn about the new methods that are becoming popular to deceive people. In this regard, the specialist has spoken about a new method on Instagram and Facebook.
“We have detected more than 600 pages pretending to be doctors and companies that sell beauty and wellness products. Cybercriminals create pages in bulk using doctors’ names, put a photo of them in a white coat and a made-up specialty, write the ad in the first person as if it were a scientific breakthrough, and in the end they sell you a fake product”, she begins by saying.

“The goal is for you to lose the money from the purchase and also your data so they can later use it in future scams”, she stated. That said, the young specialist explained the steps that should be followed to protect ourselves from these cybercriminals. “First, check the product and the page very carefully. If you see that there is no information about it on the Internet, be suspicious”, she pointed out.
“And the second thing I recommend you do is copy the link to that website or that product and paste it into Vival. We will analyze it and tell you in a matter of seconds whether it is trustworthy or not,” María Aperador concluded, emphasizing that they have a program capable of detecting whether the link is harmful or not.
On the other hand, the cybersecurity expert has also warned about how to share your passwords. As she explains, you should “use a password manager in team mode.” “I use Proton’s, for example, but there are many more. And it allows me to share passwords through a single-use link that self-destructs after the time I set,” she concludes.
