The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is conducting a raid at the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)’s premises in Centurion.
The Special Tribunal granted a warrant for the search and seizure last Thursday to get documents for an ongoing investigation at PSIRA.

This is in relation to the procurement or contracting for training services on behalf of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) to more than 7,000 learners across nine provinces.
The contract value is estimated at around R130 million.
SIU spokesperson Selby Makgotho said the raid is a last resort to get information to assist with the investigation, after PSIRA failed to cooperate.
“The SIU’s request for documentation was only partially complied with, and the bundle sent to the unit omitted a year’s worth of documentation necessary for investigation. The SIU deemed it necessary to seek a search-and-seizure warrant from the Special Tribunal to seize the documents and electronic devices to assist an ongoing investigation.”
