TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A former Tallahassee youth minister was declared a sexual predator Thursday and sentenced to decades behind bars for molesting a teen over the span of years.

Terrance Booker was sentenced to more than 55 years in prison.

A victim advocate from the State Attorney’s Office read a statement from the victim in this case before the judge declared Booker a sexual offender and a sexual predator.

“I want you to know, Terrance, that due to the things you put me through, I don’t enjoy the feeling of comfort. Or family. Or love. Not because I can’t. But because when I did, I went through the most traumatic experiences a child can go through,” the advocate said.

Booker was found guilty in July.

Previously, Booker worked with young people at his church and also worked at a local elementary school’s after-school program until his arrest in August 2025.

Booker spoke briefly before the judge announced his sentence, asking for mercy.

“I know what has been brought to the court and everything, but those things are not what they are,” Booker said. “I hope you took some time to look at the letters and really see where my heart is, what kind of work I did, and what I have been doing for the community.”

Booker is still facing accusations from four other victims. Those charges are still pending.
