Michael Hill was out of prison for just two months before being caught in another undercover operation in St. Johns County.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — It didn’t take long for one Florida sex offender to return to life behind bars.

A man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Tuesday after being caught in not one, but two undercover child sexual exploitation sting operations in Northeast Florida.

The sentence was handed down to Michael Hill, of Green Cove Springs, in St. Johns County court. According to the State Attorney’s Office, Hill pleaded no contest to multiple charges after traveling to St. Johns County to meet a fictitious 14-year-old girl for sex in September 2025.

“When Hill realized detectives were there instead, he attempted to break his phone into pieces to destroy digital evidence before he was arrested,” the State Attorney R.J. Larizza’s office wrote in a news release.

Hill had already previously been incarcerated for a similar offense in Jacksonville that took place in 2024.

In January 2025, Hill was sentenced to 18 months in prison for traveling to meet a minor. He served six months in a Florida prison before being released.

Just two months later, he was arrested on charges of traveling to meet a minor, attempted lewd or lascivious battery and tampering with physical evidence.

As part of his sentence, Hill was designated a sexual predator. After his time in prison, Hill will face five years of sex offender probation.
