Kylie Kelce Responds to Claims She Exploits Her Kids on Social Media | #childpredator | #kidsaftey | #childsaftey

It’s been a whirlwind few years for Kylie Kelce. After her football family was thrust even further in the spotlight when brother-in-law Travis Kelce first started dating his future wife, Taylor Swift, people discovered Jason’s wife is actually really hilarious, and now, she’s the host of her wildly successful Not Gonna Lie podcast.

But becoming more public has also meant losing more privacy, and Kylie said the one sacrifice she isn’t willing to make is giving up her four daughters’ privacy, especially when it comes to what she shares about them online.

Kylie used to approach social media in a much more typical way.

While appearing on Wednesday’s episode of Taylor and Tay Lautner’s podcast, The Squeeze, Kylie opened up about how her approach to sharing things online has changed as she’s become more and more well known.

“The shame of it is that when we had our first, I was not necessarily in the public eye,” she said. “Obviously, I was married to my husband and he had a large following just because of football, but I didn’t have a bunch of random people following my account, so I still very much used my Instagram specifically to post life updates [and] use social media exactly how anyone would use social media.”

Now, with 2.7 million followers, Kylie has chosen to “post infrequently overall, and I post even less frequently our children.”

She decided she no longer wants to share her daughters’ faces on social media.

She was okay with including the girls in Amazon Prime’s Kelce documentary, but afterward, something shifted for her.

“Our kids were included in that because, part of the decision, was surrounded by the impact it had on our family,” she explained. “So, they were included in that, and that was really the turning point for me to understand that people can’t draw a line for themselves. I think that sometimes you have to very clearly draw it for them.”

And before you ask, no, Kylie will not be posting photos of her children with emojis covering their faces, because that is something she said she will never understand.

“I will say, and I’m so sorry for the people who do this, [but] I don’t quite understand the posting photos of their faces and putting an emoji on top of it. … I just find it super confusing,” she said.

Safety is top of mind for her — no matter what other people online might say.

Kylie acknowledged that there are people out there who don’t like that she even shares stories about her daughters on her podcast, but she isn’t too worried about what they think of her.

“People online take issue with the fact that I discuss my kids’ lives, which I think is kind of crazy, let alone show their faces on anything,” Kylie shared. “There was actually a radio show that put out a clip and they tagged me multiple times recently, maybe in the last, like, two months, and they were like, ‘She exploits her kids.’ And I’m like, ‘My kids aren’t in anything.’”

She added, “I, overall, want to ensure my kids safety and that’s always going to be the top priority, but part of the issue is people are going to see them. What are you going to do? Mask them? Leave them in the house?”

It’s a brand new parenting decision that other generations didn’t have to make — why not offer some grace to the moms who are figuring it all out?
