  • Ransomware victims around the world totaled 2,760 in the third quarter, up 21% from the second quarter and 75% from the same period last year, according to the Q3 2026 Ransomware and Cyber Threat Insights Report from GuidePoint Security.
  • Hospitality technology provider Mews released survey results that found 89% of guests want either a balanced mix of AI and human-led hospitality or AI only working in the background on repetitive tasks. The survey of 3,250 individuals spanned the United States, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
  • Fraud prevention specialist Darwinium launched two services, the Journey Transition Probability and MCP Protection. Both are designed to complement its efforts to better protect agentic commerce transactions.
  • Riskified has launched Agent Identity Risk Intelligence, designed to identify the AI assistant behind an order, link it to a human customer, and develop a real-time risk indication.
  • International payments network Swift announced its new Supervisory Board, consisting of 15 members, including chairman Graeme Munro, managing director, commercial & investment bank at J.P. Morgan.
  • The Western Union Co. will continue to offer money-transfer, money order, and bill-payment services at Publix Supermarket stores under a new agreement. Publix operates 1,432 stores, mostly in the Southeastern U.S.
  • Mastercard Inc. is working with SoFi Tech Solutions and Orbi, a Mexico-based fintech, to create a card that lets users make both fiat- and crypto-based payments, with merchants receiving fiat currency. SoFi Tech Solutions was formerly known as Galileo Financial Technologies.
  • Pathward Financial Inc. said it will continue originating earned-wage access payments through an extended agreement with Clair, an EWA specialist, which says it serves 500,000 monthly active users and more than 300,000 active businesses.
  • Gaming-industry payments specialist Pavilion Payments named Mary Beth Higgins chief executive officer, succeeding Diallo Gordon. Higgins has been serving as interim chief financial officer. The company also named Alyssa Beaver chief revenue officer. Higgins formerly was CEO of Affinity Interactive. Beaver formerly led sales and marketing at Passport Technology.
