VIVEK RAMASWAMY KEEPS AD WITH WIFE OF CONVICTED CHILD SEX OFFENDER ON AIR
COLUMBUS, OH– Following national reporting yesterday that Vivek Ramaswamy aired an ad featuring a convicted child sex offender, his campaign re-released the same ad in an attempt to deceive voters.
While they removed the convicted child sex offender, Ramaswamy chose to still include the his wife, who called the accusations against her husband “false,” and said that Vernon Edwards, who was convicted of “gross sexual imposition” involving a minor younger than 13 years old, has been an “exemplary citizen at this point.” The ad remains focused on the couple’s rising property taxes on the house they own together.
“Vivek Ramaswamy has made it clear over and over again he doesn’t care about facts or fighting to make life better for Ohioans in his ads; he’s platforming a convicted child sex predator, falsely blaming Dr. Acton for the death of a woman who has never lived in Ohio, and using his own neighbor to spread misinformation. He’s a billionaire scam artist who is trying to buy this election,” said Addie Bullock, spokesperson for the Acton campaign. “This ad shows Ohio exactly who Vivek Ramaswamy is. He owes the people of Ohio an apology. We deserve better.”
