Florida Chipotle disrupted by teen in banana costume for social stunt | #childpredator | #onlinepredator | #sextrafficing

FORT MYERS, Fla. —A teenager wearing a banana costume disrupted a Chipotle restaurant on Dani Drive in Fort Myers last Tuesday night, yelling and entering the kitchen as part of a social media stunt. The teen entered the restaurant shouting, “Where are my lemon chips?” before passing a child and the child’s parents, making his way behind the counter and into the kitchen, catching workers off guard. “It’s very disruptive, but it’s disconcerting that somebody can just go in there and then walk out the door like they did,” said Bob Kostrewa, who witnessed the incident. Gulf Coast News witnessed the action from outside the restaurant. Initially, the thought was that workers were pranking each other until the teen was seen running out the back of the restaurant. “They’re causing a nuisance,” said James Perez, a Fort Myers resident. Jayden Phillips, another local, described the behavior as “kind of obnoxious and not really needed. No, there’s no reason to do something like that.” The video of the incident was obtained from the teens involved, who initially agreed to speak on camera but later declined. They said their goal was to make people laugh and cheer up them up on social media. “They could still do social media, but they don’t have to, like, bother other people, disrupt the peace and stuff like that,” said Sergio Pascual, another Fort Myers resident. The incident is part of a growing online trolling trend where individuals disrupt businesses to provoke reactions. “Kids are too obsessed with their phones these days. So, they’re always trying to get out there and put themselves out there, but in the worst way possible,” Perez said. “If you guys want to make views, do views a different type of way, you know what I mean? Do it with families, relatives, friends now,” said Alicia Fernandez, a Fort Myers resident. No police report was filed with the Fort Myers Police Department regarding the incident. Chipotle has been contacted for comment, but no response has been received yet.DOWNLOAD the free Gulf Coast News app for your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet.
