Campbelltown Anglican Schools Council is aware of the claims and is actively investigating the incident.
“Campbelltown Anglican Schools Council is investigating a cyber incident involving an unauthorised third party accessing part of our systems,” Andrew Middleton, Campbelltown Anglican Schools Council’s CEO, told Cyber Daily.
“As soon as we became aware of the incident, we immediately took steps to secure our systems, engage the support of cyber security and forensic experts and commence an investigation into the extent of the impact.”

Middleton added that he was also aware that a particular school had been named.
“We are aware of online claims relating to the incident that reference a school within our network, St Peter’s Anglican School. External forensic specialists are assessing these claims as part of the broader investigation,” Middleton said.
“At this stage, we are continuing to verify the nature and extent of any information involved and we are working with cyber security specialists to monitor the situation closely for further developments.”

The council has informed the Australian Cyber Security Centre and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Middleton said the council “will continue to update all relevant authorities and regulators as necessary and in line with our obligations”.
Parents and staff have already been informed and kept up to date.
“At this stage, the investigation into the impacts of the incident remains ongoing,” Middleton said.
“If any personal information is identified as being involved, we will communicate with impacted individuals directly.”
Who is The Gentlemen?
The Gentlemen appeared on the ransomware scene in September 2025; however, in just over a year, the group has risen to the number two spot in terms of victim count, behind only the Qilin ransomware-as-a-service operation.
The Gentlemen is thought to be made up of Russian speakers and operates under a similar model to Qilin – affiliates keep 90 per cent of any ransom paid, with the rest going to The Gentlemen in return for using its infrastructure and malware.
The Gentlemen’s most recent Australian victim was the Mandurah SES, which confirmed it was responding to an incident this month.
