Arabic version: ستوكر تتولى حقيبتي سلامة الأطفال والعنف الأسري في كوينزلاندAccording to ABC News, Oodgeroo MP Amanda Stoker will replace Amanda Camm as Queensland’s child safety and domestic and family violence minister, marking the first major change to the state government’s ministry since it came to power two years ago.Ms Stoker will also assume the families, seniors and disability services portfolios previously held by Ms Camm. She had been assistant minister for finance, trade, employment and training, and was a federal senator for Queensland from 2018 to 2022.Ms Camm told the premier on Thursday that she would stand down, saying the decision was hers. The Whitsunday MP had returned only a fortnight earlier from six weeks of sick leave following what she described as “major surgery”.She said her recovery was ongoing and “would not be aided by the position of minister, the ongoing stresses associated with that role and the workload”. Ms Camm had faced months of scrutiny over children in residential care sleeping on the floor of child safety offices and cuts to the domestic and family violence prevention sector in the latest state budget. She did not commit to recontesting her seat at the next election.
