Bryant Moreland, better known by his online moniker EDP445, was arrested in Henderson, Nevada, on Wednesday, 4 November. He is facing four felony charges, all related to attempted sexual conduct with a minor.
EDP445 was originally caught up in an amateur sting operation conducted by fellow YouTubers Alex Rosen and ‘Ghost’ (the latter individual’s real name is not public) in April 2021. The two content creators set up a fake profile of a 13-year-old girl and messaged EDP445. The conversation soon became extremely graphic.
The subject of the vigilante investigation also agreed to meet the decoy in person in Bakersfield, California. When he showed up to what he believed to be a sexual liaison with a minor, he was instead confronted by the Rosen and Ghost.
However, because of the numerous egregious procedural errors made by amateurs in the investigation, the case could never be prosecuted, despite EDP445’s intent being clear. By contrast, famous investigative journalist Chris Hansen, known for his To Catch a Predator segment on Dateline NBC and other subsequent child predator sting investigations, has been closely collaborating with local law enforcement agencies for his work since the third TPAC sting he did in February 2006. Therefore, the potential predators caught by his investigations get convicted at a very high rate.
EDP445 has been banned on all social media platforms following his viral sting, and thus his career as an online content creator was completely over, but Moreland was able to remain a free man.
Why Did EDP445 Get Arrested Now?
Henderson Police arrested EDP445 to extradite him to California and face charges for conduct that took place over five years prior because of statements he made in The Sick Mind of EDP445, the documentary made by YouTuber Mike Clum and released in August 2026.
EDP445 agreed to appear in the doc, most likely to help out of his dire financial situation. As part of it, he was also interviewed by Chris Hansen.
Chris Hansen Confronts EDP445 | FULL EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWOn this exclusive episode of Have a Seat, Chris Hansen brings his full interview with Bryant Moreland, the disgraced content creator and social media personality better known as EDP445. Moreland candidly relives his 2021 actions, when he was caught having an inappropriate text exchange with someone he was told was a 13-year-old girl.
Remarkably, during that interview, he blatantly admitted that he went to the location in Bakersfield in April 2021 to meet up with an underage girl and attempt to have sexual relations with her. Most likely, he operated under the belief that because of the unprofessional nature of the sting operation, he could never be prosecuted for his potentially criminal acts during it.
However, what he told Chris Hansen in that documentary is evidence gathered outside that investigation.
As a result, EDP445 is now facing four felony charges in Kern County, California: attempted lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under the age of 14, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with intent to commit sexual offence, and distribution or showing of pornography to a minor.
If convicted on all charges, he can face up to eight years in prison. That is the statutory maximum for the most serious felony, attempted lewd acts upon a child under 14, and his sentences for the other three charges would likely run concurrently if convicted.
Given that EDP445 is a very obese man who has to go to dialysis daily due to kidney failure, chances are he could not survive eight years in the California prison system.
