Patna Police have arrested two suspects in a ₹1.20 crore cyber fraud case linked to nearly 50 complaints across different locations.
How Did Police Uncover the Fraud Network?
A joint team of Patna’s Cyber Crime and Security Unit and Cyber Police Station uncovered the suspected fraud network following technical investigations and examination of financial records. Acting on the findings, police raided a rented house in Lane Number 3 of Adarsh Colony, located in the Khemnichak area under Ramkrishna Nagar Police Station.
During the operation, officers arrested 24-year-old Bablu Kumar, a resident of Saneya village under Ariyari Police Station in Sheikhpura district. Investigators recovered several banking documents and electronic devices allegedly connected to fraudulent transactions. A case was registered at Patna Cyber Police Station under case number 1451/2026. Following Bablu Kumar’s questioning, police conducted another raid in the Awadhpuri Nagar locality under Sasaram Nagar Police Station in Rohtas district.
The second operation led to the arrest of Anshu Kumari. Police also recovered banking materials and ATM cards suspected to have been used in cyber fraud activities.

What Did Police Recover During the Raids?
Police seized 38 ATM cards, nine mobile phones, eight SIM cards, 19 bank passbooks, a QR scanner and other banking documents during the investigation. The recovered materials also included a cheque book, a stamp and ₹76,000 in cash. Investigators suspect that the banking instruments and electronic devices were used to facilitate transactions involving money obtained through cyber fraud.
The seized ATM cards, bank records and mobile phones are being examined to establish their possible connections with suspicious financial activities. Police are also analysing the bank accounts associated with the recovered documents to determine how funds moved through the suspected network.
How Many Cyber Fraud Complaints Are Linked?
According to police, technical analysis of the identified bank accounts revealed suspected cyber fraud transactions amounting to approximately ₹1.20 crore. Investigators found that nearly 50 cybercrime complaints had been registered from different locations in connection with these accounts. The findings have prompted further examination of the financial transactions and the possible involvement of additional individuals.
Police are questioning both arrested suspects to identify other members of the suspected network and establish their respective roles. Investigators are also working to trace the movement of fraudulent funds and determine whether more bank accounts were used in the operation.
The investigation remains ongoing as police examine the seized banking records and electronic evidence to identify further connections to the reported cybercrime complaints.
