Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42 says a Chinese-speaking hacker wired DeepSeek into the open-source Hermes Agent framework and launched autonomous attacks against roughly 460 systems after Claude and OpenAI blocked the same offensive requests. Only three attacks succeeded, but researchers say the campaign proves agentic AI hacking has moved from theory to a repeatable pipeline.
