The partnership represents an exciting addition to Colchester United’s commercial portfolio, strengthening the Club’s relationship with a business that has established itself within the football and wider events industries.
Achilleus Security are a specialist security, stewarding and crowd management provider, delivering to football clubs, stadiums, event organisers, and venues. Their services also include specialist local area SIA-licensed security guards, mobile patrols, alarm response, vacant property inspections, lock and unlock services, with an emphasis on professionalism, customer service and creating safe and secure environments .
With experience supporting major organisations across the sporting and events sectors, Achilleus Security understand the importance of delivering high standards in busy public environments. Their involvement in football and stadiums makes the partnership a natural fit, bringing together two organisations with a shared connection to the matchday experience.
Colchester United Commercial Sales Executive Adam Gilbert said: “We’re delighted to welcome Achilleus Security as our Official Security Partner and North Stand sponsor.
“This is an exciting partnership for the Club and it’s fantastic to be working with a business that brings such a wealth of experience across football and major events, alongside strong local connections to Colchester and the surrounding area.
“Providing our supporters with a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable matchday experience is hugely important to us, and Achilleus share that same commitment to making sure everyone who visits the JobServe Community Stadium feels comfortable and looked after.
“Their team already plays an important role on matchdays, so it’s great to be able to build on that relationship through this partnership.
“We’re also really pleased to be working with a company that has such strong roots in the local area and we’re looking forward to seeing the Achilleus Security North Stand become an established part of the stadium over the coming seasons. We are excited to build a successful relationship with Mario and the team over the next two years and beyond.”
Achilleus Security Directors Mario & Cathy Garcia added:
“We really thrilled to be working with Colchester United.
“We believe so strongly that ‘Football brings people together,’ and there’s a lot of pride knowing our team will help supporters enjoy their day safely.
“We feel immensely excited as we see the Achilleus Branding go up at the ground and area we know so well. It represents the hard work of everyone in our business and the trust the club has placed in us.”
Mario further explain: “Having grown up in West Mersea and Colchester, seeing our name here makes this partnership especially meaningful. Growing up seeing my mum and dad build a successful family nightclub and restaurant business taught me early lessons about looking out for people. I first worked security at the WOMAD Festival in 1985 in East Mersea, and I discovered a real enthusiasm for the atmosphere and responsibility of live events, and it has become a lifelong career of over 40 years.”
As a keen football family, Mario and his partner Cathy understand just how much matchdays mean to fans coming through the turnstiles.
Cathy added: “Supporters look forward to their football, whether they’re bringing their family, meeting friends, or following their team away from home.
“A friendly welcome and someone ready to help can make a real difference. While we also look out for them, keeping them safe is what we do. We want our stewards to be people supporters feel comfortable approaching.”
The naming rights agreement will give Achilleus Security a high-profile presence at the JobServe Community Stadium throughout the partnership, connecting the company with Colchester United supporters and the wider community.
Colchester United are pleased to welcome Achilleus Security to the Club’s network of commercial partners and look forward to building a successful relationship over the coming seasons.
