The Institute is being created for a world in which cybersecurity can no longer be separated from national security, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, space operations, critical infrastructure and the integrity of mission-critical data.
Its purpose is ambitious: to develop the researchers, practitioners and strategic leaders who will secure the systems on which modern society increasingly depends.
The ADAM Institute will offer three distinct educational pathways:
– A master’s degree pathway (MSc) combining advanced academic study with practical learning focused on real mission environments.
– A doctoral degree pathway (PhD), through which doctoral candidates will conduct original doctoral-level research intended for publication in respected academic and professional journals.
– A portfolio of professional graduate certificate programs designed for working professionals, executives, engineers, military personnel, government leaders and technology innovators seeking specialized expertise without immediately pursuing a full degree.
Rather than treating cybersecurity as a narrow information technology discipline, the Institute will examine the larger challenge of establishing trust across complex, interconnected systems. Areas of study are expected to include mission-critical cybersecurity, data verification, artificial intelligence assurance, autonomous systems, cyber-physical infrastructure, space and defense systems, data sovereignty, operational resilience and emerging technologies.

The Institute will connect academic learning with the realities of protecting high-consequence environments. Students will be encouraged to investigate emerging problems, challenge conventional assumptions and develop research and solutions with practical value beyond the classroom.
ADAM Aerospace will support the Institute by contributing mission-driven expertise, practitioner perspectives, research themes and exposure to real-world challenges across the aerospace, defense, space and trusted-data ecosystems. Elton University will provide the academic platform through which the Institute’s degree and professional learning pathways are delivered.

The Institute’s distinctive PhD by publication model will be centered on original scholarship. Instead of completing a traditional course-heavy doctoral sequence, candidates will develop a coherent body of advanced research through publication-quality manuscripts addressing consequential challenges within their area of concentration.
Professional certifications will provide focused, practical pathways for learners who need specialized knowledge that can be applied immediately within their organizations and missions.
