[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] Belgian cybersecurity company Aikido Security has launched Endpoint, a lightweight security agent that protects the use of AI on developer workstations and responds to open-source software supply chain attacks, SiliconANGLE reported on April 20 local time.

The company said developer workstations are becoming security blind spots at many organisations. As AI-based development and deployment spread, new attack surfaces are growing that existing security processes cannot cover.

Companies are rolling out AI coding tools to thousands of developers without having much visibility into what is actually running on developer workstations, it said.

Endpoint scans software packages, standalone development environments, browser extensions and AI tools before installation.

Security teams can audit every action taken by Endpoint and identify AI tools, models and services running on developer systems. The company said teams can set policy rules by team, role and device, enabling controls tailored to actual usage instead of applying uniform rules across an organisation.
