Lucknow, June 26: In a significant step towards curbing cybercrime, the Yogi Adityanath-led government is transforming Uttar Pradesh into a model for cyber security in India. As part of this mission, Amroha Police has emerged as a prominent cybersecurity hub across the country.
The Yogi government has been continuously taking major steps to control cybercrime in the state. On one hand, it is adopting advanced technology to prevent cyber offenses, and on the other, the district-level police force is introducing new initiatives to support these efforts.
In this regard, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Amroha Police has launched the Cybersecurity Internship Program-2025, which aims to educate and empower students from Uttar Pradesh and other states. This program is not only creating awareness among youth about cybercrime prevention but also teaching them the skills to control cyber offenses.
More than just a training program, it is a movement to make society cyber-secure by nurturing a new generation of cyber-aware citizens. The initiative is seen as a milestone in the state’s ongoing mission to strengthen law and order through technology under the visionary leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath.
Amroha Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said that, following CM Yogi’s vision, the district is hosting a Cybersecurity Internship Program-2025 that will run until June 30. In this program, students are learning skills to fight cybercrime and also being trained to spread awareness among people.
He explained that students from 22 states across the country are participating in this internship. The aim is not just to give them technical training, but also to prepare them as ‘digital protectors’ who can help society. The program doesn’t end with training — the participants will also raise awareness in their own schools and communities.
The Amroha SP further mentioned that Amroha Police’s effort is a new example of community policing, showing that when the police and the public work together, they can face the challenges of the digital age more effectively.
SP Amit Kumar Anand also said that under the leadership of CM Yogi, the state government has already taken several strong steps in recent years to control cybercrime, such as setting up dedicated cyber police stations, a cyber helpline, a digital fraud tracking system, and public awareness campaigns. This internship program by Amroha Police is an important part of those efforts, helping build a strong, cyber-aware society for the future.
He informed that the internship program is free of cost and is fully organized by Amroha Police. All sessions are conducted offline to improve discipline and communication skills. National-level experts are providing deep knowledge on topics like cyber law, digital forensics, ethical hacking, OSINT, the dark web, and mobile forensics. Students also gain hands-on experience through “Capture the Flag” (CTF) games and real-life case studies, helping them understand cybercrime investigation at the ground level.
Participants include 248 from Uttar Pradesh as well as youth from Bihar (48), Rajasthan (42), Delhi (30), Haryana (29), and many others from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Tripura, Odisha, and more. This unique initiative is making Amroha known across the country — not just geographically, but also in the field of digital safety.
