Sensitive information about Apple’s unreleased iPhone 18 Pro, including supplier lists, component details and internal photographs, has been exposed following a cyberattack on Tata Electronics, one of Apple’s key manufacturing partners in India, according to documents reviewed by Reuters and a source familiar with the matter.
The leaked files were published on the dark web by the ransomware group World Leaks, which previously claimed responsibility for a breach involving sportswear company Nike. Reuters said it was unable to independently verify the authenticity of all the leaked documents or immediately obtain comment from the hacking group.
Among the files are detailed maps linking hundreds of components used in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models to their respective suppliers. The documents identify manufacturers key parts, including chips on the phone’s main circuit board, battery components and camera modules. Apple does not publicly disclose which suppliers produce individual components for its devices, making the information highly sensitive.

The leaked records also reveal where Apple sources the same component from multiple suppliers and where it depends on only one or a few manufacturers, potentially exposing vulnerabilities in its global supply chain and weakening its negotiation position with vendors.
Several documents reportedly carry Apple’s confidential markings and internal code names associated with the iPhone 18 Pro generation. The cache also includes photographs taken during drop-testing at a Tata Electronics facility earlier this year, showing what appears to be a gray prototype handset with Apple’s signature triple-camera design. Reuters said it could not independently confirm the model shown in the images, though a source familiar with the matter identified it as the iPhone 18 Pro.
The latest revelations expand on an earlier breach involving more than 200,000 files stolen from Tata Electronics. Previous leaked documents included engineering papers related to older iPhone models, Tesla components and materials involving suppliers such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Qualcomm.

Reuters previously reported that Apple has been investigating the breach alongside Tata, while the Indian manufacturer has tightened internal security measures, restricted access to sensitive systems and hired an international consulting firm to conduct a forensic audit.
The incident comes as Apple continues shifting more of its manufacturing to India as part of its strategy to reduce dependence on China. According to research firm Counterpoint, India is expected to produce about 26% of the world’s iPhones this year, up from roughly 6% four years ago.
The leak also arrives just months before Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 lineup, raising concerns about the security of one of the company’s most closely guarded product development and supply chain operations.
