Aurora® Adaptive Threat Protection leverages AI-driven, intent-based detection designed to disrupt attacks mid-flight and advance a new era of preemptive cybersecurity
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – October 14, 2026 – Arctic Wolf®, the cybersecurity and AI company, today at its 2026 Security Operations Summit introduced Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection, a next-generation endpoint security solution designed to unlock AI-powered, intent-based detection to identify, disrupt, and reverse ransomware, credential theft, and other evasive attacks earlier in the attack chain.
Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection introduces a new approach to endpoint security built for today’s AI threat landscape. As AI enables attackers to move faster and shorten the time to exploit, organizations need a solution that is designed to disrupt threats preemptively before malicious activity becomes visible by traditional security tools. Gartner® recently noted, “to stay ahead of AI-augmented attacks, enterprises are increasingly moving beyond reactive monitoring toward preemptive controls, specifically capabilities that can deny, deceive, and disrupt adversaries.”1
Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection helps organizations make that shift by identifying malicious intent earlier in the attack lifecycle and helping stop attacks before they cause significant damage. Designed to operate alongside existing endpoint protection (EPP) and detection solutions (EDR), including third-party platforms and Aurora Endpoint Security, it extends protection without requiring organizations to replace what they already have.
Rather than relying on individual indicators of compromise, Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection predicts, maps, and analyzes endpoint activity to understand how processes and events unfold across the endpoint, enabling it to recognize when seemingly legitimate actions begin to converge toward a malicious outcome. By detecting intent earlier in the attack chain, Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection can interrupt and roll back attacks before they fully materialize to help organizations address threats earlier than traditional EPP and EDR alone.
Many of today’s attacks no longer rely on malware, making them harder to detect with conventional security tools. Instead, attackers leverage compromised credentials, trusted tools, and low-and-slow techniques that blend into normal business operations. The trend is accelerating, with ransomware accounting for 44% of Arctic Wolf incident response engagements in the last year. Credential theft continues to surge, with credential-harvesting malware collecting an estimated 1.7 billion credentials from 7.4 million infected devices.2 As attackers increasingly use AI to automate reconnaissance, accelerate intrusion activity, and scale campaigns, security teams need new ways to identify threats earlier in the attack lifecycle.
“Attackers often don’t need malware to cause damage. They can use legitimate tools, trusted credentials, and AI-driven automation to hide in plain sight, all at machine speed,” said Dan Schiappa, President of Technology and Services at Arctic Wolf. “That’s why endpoint security needs to evolve. Endpoint detection and response does rich detection well, but that work needs to happen earlier. Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection shifts the mindset from a purely detection and response approach to a more preemptive approach, identifying malicious intent and disrupting threats earlier in the attack chain.”
Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection builds and analyzes a causal graph of endpoint activity across processes, files, registries, and API calls. By maintaining context over time, the solution understands how events are connected and can identify attacker intent even when individual actions appear benign. This enables earlier threat detection, interruption of malicious activity in progress, and prevention of attacks before they advance deeper into the environment.
Leveraging advanced agentic workflows, including a custom-trained small language model, Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection evaluates how endpoint activity unfolds to distinguish legitimate business operations from emerging threats. When malicious intent is confirmed, Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection automatically interrupts the activity and reverses the entire attack chain, helping organizations recover faster while reducing manual remediation efforts.
Key Capabilities of Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection:
See the Entire Attack Story: Tracks the full history of endpoint activity to provide greater context around how attacks unfold, helping security teams identify and address threats that may otherwise appear as disconnected, legitimate actions.
Help Stop and Roll Back Attacks: Designed to automatically reverse malicious activity across the attack chain to help return to normal business operations quickly and efficiently.
Work Alongside Existing Security Investments: Built to enhance existing EPP and EDR investments by deploying alongside current solutions without the need to replace existing tools.
Operate with Minimal Performance Impact: Designed to provide endpoint protection without materially affecting endpoint performance, memory, or CPU utilization.
Help Reduce Security Operations Overhead: Minimizes administrative burden by addressing threats earlier and rolling attacks back to a pre-attack state, designed to save security teams time on response and remediation.
Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection is backed by the Aurora Superintelligence Platform, which processes more than 10 trillion security events each week across more than 11,000 customers. By combining AI-driven analysis with Arctic Wolf’s AI-native security operations platform, Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection delivers earlier threat detection, disruption, and recovery that complements existing endpoint solutions, while advancing the company’s approach for delivering Agentic-led security outcomes with human oversight and validation.
Aurora Adaptive Threat Protection is now available in an exclusive beta for Arctic Wolf customers. Organizations interested in participating can enroll beginning today.
