AUGUSTA — PC Techware celebrated its 25th anniversary Friday, Sept. 25, at the Augusta Country Club. The event brought together clients, partners and community leaders who helped the company grow from a one-man home computer repair service into one of the region’s most trusted commercial cybersecurity and IT firms.
Founder Russell Wyatt started PC Techware in 2001, fixing home computers across Augusta; word of mouth did the rest. Today, the company serves businesses throughout the CSRA as an all-commercial cybersecurity and IT provider.

“The clients were already here. The trust was already here. Russell had built something people relied on with a spreadsheet and a phone that he answered. Everything I have done has been on top of that, and I’ve never once been treated like a hired hand in this company,” said Matthew Jay, chief operating officer and partner at PC Techware.
Reaching 25 years is a milestone few small businesses achieve. PC Techware has paired that longevity with deep community involvement, including work with local chambers of commerce, area schools, the American Red Cross and the Exchange Club. After Hurricane Helene, the PC Techware team helped local businesses restore their systems and get back to work, an effort featured on The Means Report.
The company’s recent recognition includes being named the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Small Business of the Year, and Wyatt was honored as the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year.
Friday’s celebration featured food and drinks, giveaways from Medical Aesthetics Concierge, and table displays built with ethernet cables, a nod to the infrastructure the company has been wiring, securing and supporting for a quarter century.
