Bengaluru: An inspector attached to south-east cybercrime police station died while three of his team members sustained injuries when a private bus they were travelling in overturned and crashed on a bridge on Bhopal bypass in Biaora city of Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district early Friday morning.The deceased inspector is Ravi KB and the injured are sub-inspector Ramesh Naik, assistant sub-inspector Srinivas and technical staff member Vishwanath.Besides inspector Ravi, three more men died and 11 others sustained injuries in the accident, a senior police officer said.The four-member team led by Ravi was on its way to Indore, looking for a suspect involved in a cybercrime-related case registered in Bengaluru. “They reached Lucknow by air and boarded a bus heading to Indore. Ravi was asleep on the upper berth. The bus driver lost control over the vehicle on the bridge and crashed into the side walls before overturning. Ravi and three others were thrown out of the vehicle and fell around 30 feet down to the service road,” a senior police officer said.Hailing from Piriyapatna in Mysuru district, Ravi joined the police department as a constable in 2005. He became a sub-inspector in 2007 and then inspector. He worked in key police stations like Koramangala, Indiranagar and Ashoknagar. From Ashoknagar, he was transferred to south-east cybercrime station.
