Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has officially launched the second year of its global Anti-Scam Month initiative, a campaign to raise awareness about security in the crypto industry. In a world where scams are becoming as sophisticated as the technology designed to prevent them, Bitget is making a cultural statement: security is not just a technical challenge, but a common mindset shared by platforms and users.
While blockchain and Web3 are rapidly evolving, threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. From phishing links masquerading as scams to malicious smart contracts hidden behind social media hype, modern fraud schemes are increasingly difficult to spot. In 2024 alone, losses from cryptocurrency fraud are expected to exceed $9.9 billion, a 24% increase from 2020, according to reports.
While Bitcoin has reached new all-time highs and global adoption of cryptocurrencies has accelerated, less secure areas of the industry remain vulnerable. The proliferation of AI-generated scams and sophisticated social engineering techniques makes the need for increased security and user education particularly urgent.
Bitget has been declaring June as Fraud Awareness Month since 2024 to raise awareness and protect users’ digital assets and personal data. This year, the company is shifting its tone from fear to awareness. Under the motto «Smarter Eyes, Stronger Shields», the campaign incorporates gamified learning, community stories, and interactive content to build a culture of digital vigilance.
The campaign launches:
— Bitget Anti-Scam Hub — a special site with educational materials;
— PFP Smarter Glasses social initiative;
— Security Blog Series of publications;
— Smarter Eyes Challenge minigame.
Bitget is not alone in its mission. The campaign has been joined by leading blockchain security companies: GoPlus, SlowMist, OneKey, BlockSec, and Security Alliance, which specialize in vulnerability detection, blockchain threat analysis, and building protective infrastructure.
Key Web3 platforms, including Bitget Wallet, Morph, and Tapswap, have also joined the initiative, demonstrating the ecosystem’s commitment to a safer Web3 where users are protected «by default» and armed with knowledge.
However, it’s not just about the tools — the main thing here is trust .
«Scammers are adapting — and so are we. We are building Web3, where security is not a hope, but a reality that users personally participate in,» said Bitget CEO Gracie Chen. «Anti-Scam Month reflects our belief that protecting users is not just a technical obligation, but a shared mission.»
As part of the campaign, Bitget, together with SlowMist and the compliance analytics platform Elliptic, will publish the Anti-Scam Report 2025, an analytical report that reveals the current picture of fraud, attack methods, and measures that Bitget is taking to improve security.
Anti-Scam Month is Bitget’s long-term commitment: security is the foundation of the future of cryptocurrency. And in the «dark forest» of Web3, awareness remains the strongest shield.
During the first campaign of 2024, Bitget published a report stating that deepfake technologies could be involved in 70% of cryptocrime in the next two years. It also issued a series of warnings to Vietnamese users about the risks of crypto fraud.
In 2025, amid the rapid growth of both the number of frauds and the popularity of crypto, Bitget reaffirms its commitment to global collaboration with industry leaders for the sake of user safety and education.
