BlackBerry (BB, Financial) has increased its annual revenue forecast, anticipating sustained demand for its cybersecurity services as cybercrime continues to rise. This announcement led to a 6% increase in the company’s U.S.-listed shares in after-hours trading.

The surge in cybercrime and hacking incidents has prompted companies to invest heavily in cybersecurity, benefiting providers like BlackBerry. Analysts suggest that cybersecurity remains largely unaffected by broader spending fluctuations and is likely to remain a top investment priority for clients.

BlackBerry now expects its fiscal 2026 revenue to range between $508 million and $538 million, up from the previous estimate of $504 million to $534 million. Additionally, the company raised its annual revenue forecast for its secure communications division, which offers intelligent security software to enterprises and governments, projecting revenues between $234 million and $244 million, compared to an earlier range of $230 million to $240 million.

For the first fiscal quarter ending May 31, BlackBerry reported revenue of $121.7 million, slightly down from $123.4 million the previous year. The QNX business saw an 8.1% increase in revenue to $57.5 million, while the secure communications division experienced a 7.3% decline to $59.5 million.
