BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – In continuous efforts to strengthen public awareness of cybercrime threats, the Cyber Crime Investigation Division of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) recently was invited to deliver a briefing titled ‘Online Scams’ at two separate programmes recently.
The briefing was conducted as part of the Information Literacy Programme for Youth of Brunei-Muara District, held at the Auditorium Hall, extension Building of Department of Information, Old Airport, Berakas.
A total of 49 youth representing higher education institutions, mukims and villages, as well as youth associations, attended the programme.
This was followed by another briefing held at the Civil Service Institute as part of the Civil Service Induction Programme, attended by 182 civil servants comprising officers and staff members.
Both briefings were delivered by Chief Inspector Adinin bin Haji Ahmad, who highlighted the growing threat of online scams and stressed the importance of exercising caution when receiving suspicious information or communications.
Members of the public who have fallen victim to online scams or who possess information relating to such offences are encouraged to contact the Anti-Scam Helpline at 16993.
