Businesses risk exposing client and company data when employees use personal artificial intelligence accounts for work, Goodwin PC Services said.

The company said employees commonly type client names, paste proposals and summarize meeting notes into personal AI tools. Goodwin PC Services warned those accounts were not built for business use.

Personal AI accounts, the firm said, do not offer the visibility or protections provided by business-grade tools. “Most business owners don’t” know where that data goes, Goodwin PC Services added.

Goodwin PC Services urged companies to assess how their teams use AI and to consider managed IT or business-focused AI solutions to protect data and maintain visibility, the company said.
