Chainalysis reports cybersecurity breach.

Chainalysis reported a cybersecurity incident in which an attacker gained unauthorized access to its systems and internal tools. The company described the methods used by the attacker as “offensive agent techniques.”
According to the notification, the incident occurred this month. The attacker accessed certain client data, including user IDs, full names, email addresses, and information about employee roles in organizations connected to the Chainalysis platform.
The company is still determining which specific records were affected for each client.
Based on available data, Chainalysis found no evidence of access to investigation materials—such as graphs, notes, and cases—transaction query results, plaintext passwords, multi-factor authentication (MFA) secrets, or user session tokens.
The company has engaged external cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident, address vulnerabilities, and strengthen system defenses. Additionally, Chainalysis is using AI models for further security checks on its platform.
Users are advised to be cautious of unexpected password reset or login confirmation requests and to enable two-factor authentication if it is not already activated.
The company emphasized that the incident is not related to the Binance hack.
In October, data breaches were also reported by crypto exchanges Bithumb and Coinbase.
