Spring Mills, Pa. — A man with a record of child sex crimes has been charged in Union County.
State police out of Milton recently arrested Freddy B. Emery, 28, of Spring Mills after determining he had failed to comply with Megan’s Law requirements while he resided at a temporary address on the 200 block of Buttonwood Lane, Mifflinburg.
Emery was placed on the sex offender registry in 2017 when he was sentenced to two to four years in prison plus four years of probation for having sex with a girl younger than 16, and for possessing and sharing lewd images of a young boy.
Freddy Emery was arrested in 2016 for multiple sexual offenses involving children while living in Lancaster County.
In 2016, Paulding Police Department in Ohio provided a tip to law enforcement in Lancaster County — where Emery lived at the time — that he was engaged in inappropriate contact with an 11-year-old boy via Skype. Emery used online programs to photograph the boy.
Additionally, Emery was found to have had sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl in Lancaster County.
Charges of failure to provide accurate information for the sex offender registry and false statements to law enforcement were filed against Emery in Union County on Aug. 13. He was arraigned the same day, given $8,000 bail unsecured, and was released.
