MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Morris County man caught sexually engaging with a minor online was recently sentenced, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Brian J. Cariddi, 40, from Hanover Township, was sentenced to three years in prison on April 29 after pleading guilty to one count of endangering the welfare of a child in January.

An investigation revealed that Cariddi had engaged in explicit online chats with a 9-year-old in North Carolina between December 11, 2022 and January 10, 2023.

Reports state that Cariddi exposed himself in the online chats and requested that the child reveal their intimate parts.

Following the investigation, Cariddi was arrested on March 8, 2024 and detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility awaiting court proceedings.

Cariddi’s three-year sentence comes with 18 months of parole ineligibility and parole supervision for life.

Additionally, due to Megan’s Law, Cariddi will be a registered sex offender and is not to have any contact whatsoever with the victim upon release.
