If you’re still showing your kids’ faces online, this should be a wake-up call for you to stop. AI is at the point where it’s nearly indistinguishable from the real thing, and according to the U.S. Court of Appeals, it’s legal for child predators to possess child porn as long as it was made with AI. They argue that this isn’t harmful since these aren’t real pictures and that this is covered by the First Amendment.
All these monsters need is a picture of your child, and they can make any photo or video they like, and they’re allowed to keep it. In the future, every child predator is going to say, “This image was AI,” and what are we going to do? How are you going to prove it isn’t? All a defendant needs to get off is plausible deniability, and this is giving that to them on a golden platter.
You and I both know this is not what the First Amendment was meant for. The time to regulate the hell out of AI was yesterday, but we must do it now!
