CANASTOTA, N.Y. –  Madison County will host a child safety seat check on Friday, Aug. 21, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Kime Hardware, 3381 Seneca Turnpike, Canastota.

Trained staff will make sure your child is in the correct car seat and that the seat is properly installed and used. Please bring the child with you and install the seat before you arrive if possible. No appointment is needed.

“We know a top priority of parents and caregivers is keeping your child safe,” Chrystal Johnson, a certified child passenger safety technician and public health educator with Madison County Public Health, said in a news release from the county. “Stop by this free event for a simple checkup that can make a big difference for the safety of your family.”

This event is sponsored by Madison County Public Health, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
