Cisco will acquire AI observability startup Galileo Technologies, SiliconANGLE reported on April 10 local time.

The purchase price was not disclosed, and the deal is expected to be completed within the fourth quarter. Galileo develops tools to observe and evaluate AI models. It offers a platform that monitors multi-agent systems in real time and applies guardrails to ensure accuracy. Galileo’s solutions are set to be integrated into Cisco’s Splunk observability platform.

Kamal Hathi (카말 하티), senior vice president and general manager at Splunk, said: “Galileo provides AI teams with tools for AI quality evaluation, detecting AI errors before reaching users, and continuously improving AI behavior in production environments.” He added: “It is a solution that covers the entire process, from the early stages of prompt optimization and model selection to evaluation, operational monitoring and applying guardrails.”

Cisco is strengthening its strategy to position itself as a security layer for AI agents. At RSAC 2026 last month, it unveiled Duo Agentic Identity, which allows companies to discover, identify and monitor AI agents, and on the AI Defense platform it also

announced plans to expand support for AI agents. Jeetu Patel (지투 파텔), Cisco president and chief product officer, likened AI agents to teenagers, saying: “They are very smart but have no fear of consequences. They are always doing something weird. The difference between trusted delegation and untrusted delegation is like the difference between bankruptcy and market leadership.”

Cisco and Galileo also established a consortium, AGNTCY, last year to create an open-source architecture standard for AI agents.
