“Codegate 2025,” an event that covers the world’s best white hackers and discusses the future of South Korea’s security together, will be held from the 10th to the 11th. Codegate, which marks its 17th anniversary this year, is a festival of global white hackers hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and co-organized by the Maekyung Media Group and the Codegate Security Forum. The event, which has become one of the world’s top three international hacking defense competitions, presents security trends every year and strives to cultivate talents.

Starting with the final round of the International Hacking Defense Competition to be held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 10th, official events such as awards ceremonies and global security conferences will be held on the 11th. The highlight of this event, where the world’s top white hackers are dispatched to Seoul, is by far the final round of the hacking defense competition, which will take place from the 10th of this month. A total of 2,778 people from 66 countries participated in the preliminary round held in March alone, drawing attention. Here, the 40 teams (including individuals) that reached the final will compete. The final will be divided into general teams (20 teams) and junior teams under the age of 19 (20 players).

On the first day, a “training” event will be held along with a hacking defense competition. Security experts from the U.S. Security Conference Black Hat will be lecturers to provide advanced courses on how to identify malicious bugs and know-how to analyze Android vulnerabilities. On the second day, the 11th, an awards ceremony, a keynote lecture, and a security conference will be held.
