Cognizant and CrowdStrike have expanded their collaboration with a new cybersecurity service designed to help industrial organizations protect operational technology systems as IT and OT environments become more connected.
The companies announced Cognizant Cybersecurity for Operational Technology, a managed OT security service powered by CrowdStrike Falcon for XIoT. The service combines Cognizant’s industrial engineering and managed security operations capabilities with CrowdStrike’s technology for visibility and protection across connected industrial, OT and IT environments.
The offering targets organizations with mission-critical assets in sectors such as manufacturing, energy and critical infrastructure. The companies said those operations face heightened risk as legacy assets, remote access, expanded connectivity and Industrial Internet of Things technologies increase potential points of exposure.
In OT environments, cyberattacks can carry consequences beyond data loss, including production disruptions, impacts on safety systems and damage to critical operations. Cognizant said its service is designed to help clients address those risks through a security model tailored to each organization’s operating environment.
“Organizations are increasingly looking for cybersecurity solutions that reflect the realities of their unique operating environments,” Vishal Salvi, senior vice president and global head of cybersecurity at Cognizant, said. “Together with CrowdStrike, we’re bringing a unified approach that combines CrowdStrike security technology with deep industrial expertise to help clients reduce risk, strengthen resilience and protect critical operations.”
The service is built around Cognizant’s assess, architect, act and assure lifecycle across six OT security domains. The companies said the model supports an end-to-end process from initial asset discovery to ongoing governance.
Capabilities include OT asset discovery and visibility, threat detection and response, vulnerability management, attack surface management, identity and data protection, and governance and compliance. The service also includes 24/7 managed operations intended to help protect critical assets while limiting disruption to industrial processes.
Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike, said the convergence of IT and OT has changed the threat landscape for industrial organizations.
“Together, CrowdStrike and Cognizant are bringing AI-powered protection across IT and OT to stop breaches without disrupting the critical operations businesses depend on,” Bernard said.
The partnership between Cognizant and CrowdStrike originated in 2025. The companies said the collaboration has already secured clients across manufacturing, energy and critical infrastructure sectors.
