Comp AI Raises $34 Million Series A To Expand Agentic AI Compliance And Cybersecurity Platform | #hacking | #cybersecurity | #infosec | #comptia | #pentest | #ransomware

Comp AI has raised $34 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-native compliance and security platform beyond audit readiness and compliance automation into continuous cybersecurity. The round was led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures.

Founded in January 2025, Comp AI has grown to more than 1,000 customers and reported 15x year-over-year ARR growth less than two years after launching.

The company plans to use the financing to accelerate product and engineering development, expand its continuous cybersecurity capabilities and grow its team across its Miami headquarters and New York office.

Comp AI is building around the idea that security and compliance should move from periodic, point-in-time assessments toward a continuous operating model.

Traditional compliance software reduced the manual work previously handled through spreadsheets, consultants and lengthy preparation cycles, but many workflows still depend heavily on people.

Comp AI is using agentic AI to automate areas including onboarding, policy and risk generation, evidence gathering, control monitoring and vendor assessments.

The company said the approach can help software businesses move toward compliance in days rather than quarters while maintaining the rigor required by customers and regulated markets.

Its platform is designed to combine compliance, risk management, vendor security and security operations while using AI agents to reason across organizational context and perform work that would traditionally require ongoing human intervention.

Comp AI currently serves customers across healthcare, financial services, higher education, professional services and software, including Corgi, Dub, OpenCode, Inference and Primer.

The Series A will support the company’s move into real-time monitoring, control validation and security testing across applications and infrastructure.

That expansion reflects a broader change in the security environment as AI accelerates software development and allows technical teams to release and update products more rapidly.

Comp AI believes faster development cycles also create more dynamic security environments, making annual or periodic assessments increasingly insufficient.

The company is positioning continuous security monitoring as a natural extension of its compliance platform, with AI agents designed to identify, validate and eventually act on changing risks in real time.

Comp AI has also grown its broader organization 10x year over year and plans to hire across product, engineering, operations, sales, customer success and marketing.

The expansion is intended to help Comp AI move further upmarket and support larger organizations with increasingly complex compliance and security requirements.

The company is also designing its products specifically around the capabilities of AI agents rather than adding AI features to workflows created before agentic technology became available.

Comp AI sees this architecture as an opportunity to move security software beyond documenting whether work was completed toward systems that can increasingly execute and verify security tasks directly.

KEY QUOTES:

“AI is changing the security and compliance landscape quickly, and businesses can no longer afford to treat compliance as an annual box-checking exercise. Lewis and Claudio saw that shift early and built an agentic platform that makes compliance and security continuous. The gravitational pull they have received from the market shows us that customers have felt the pain and see the need for a platform like this one. Comp AI is exactly the type of company we are building Roo to back, and we believe it has a real opportunity to define this category. As company builders ourselves, we are excited to lead this investment and put Roo’s differentiated Capital + Talent + Growth model to work alongside the team as they scale.”

Varun Sridhar, Principal at Roo Capital

“The first generation of compliance software proved this process could be automated. Agentic AI lets us go much further. Security software shouldn’t just track the work. It should understand the business, perform the work, and act as risk changes. We started by making compliance dramatically faster and less resource-intensive. Now we’re building toward a platform to proactively identify, validate, and act on risk in real time.”

Lewis Carhart, CEO and Co-Founder of Comp AI

“Historically, compliance has been an approximation of security because so much of the work could only be performed manually and periodically. Agentic AI changes that constraint. Work that once required teams of people can increasingly happen continuously in software. At the same time, AI is making the threat landscape faster and more dynamic. We believe the next generation of security companies will be built around that reality from day one.”

Claudio Fuentes, COO and Co-Founder of Comp AI

“AI changes both what software can do and how quickly technical teams can build it. As models become more capable, we can move beyond software that simply records whether security work happened toward software that can execute and verify that work.”

Mariano Fuentes, CTO and Co-Founder of Comp AI

“When I first visited Comp AI in New York, the team was four people working out of a single room. Since then, an increasing number of our own portfolio companies have left other compliance platforms out of frustration and moved to Comp AI, and every one of them raved about both the process and the result. That’s the same thing I saw on day one: a team that moves incredibly fast, stays close to its customers, and makes every resource count. Growing to more than 1,000 customers this quickly is remarkable, and we believe they’re just getting started.”
