Greece’s National Cybersecurity Authority has issued an urgent warning to companies in shipping, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors about potential cyberattacks from Iran-linked hacker groups.

The alert, dated March 11 and rated “high severity,” was first reported by Reuters. At least two shipping companies confirmed receiving the notification.

The authority distributed a list of IP addresses linked to threat actors, drawing on intelligence shared by foreign counterpart agencies and security services. Officials emphasized the warning was precautionary, noting no attacks on Greek companies had been recorded.

The alert follows Albania’s official confirmation that Iranian hackers attacked its parliament’s computer systems. Albania’s cybersecurity director Saimir Kapllani confirmed the parliament’s email system had been compromised, pledging that “all necessary measures will be taken.”

The group “Homeland Justice,” believed responsible for the Albanian attack, published a statement on Telegram warning: “All discussions and correspondence of corrupt MPs from recent months are in Homeland Justice’s hands.”

Separately, the pro-Palestinian group “Handala,” reportedly linked to Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security, is believed responsible for a cyberattack on medical technology company Stryker.

For their part, Greek company security officials reported “suspicious activity” but no serious breach attempts.
