Cyber Serp hackers claim a breach of Ukraine’s state encryption system, exposing keys, source code, and digital signature registries used by government agencies.

A pro-Russian hacking group known as «Cyber Serp» has claimed responsibility for breaching a state encryption key and the digital signature registry system used by Ukrainian government agencies.

According to the group, the attack granted them access to restricted encryption data, source codes, and cryptographic keys employed in interagency electronic document exchange. They described the scale of the operation as nothing less than a strike on what they called Ukraine’s «digital core.»

The compromised encryption system, developed by the company «Saifer,» was used to secure access to internal resources across government institutions, major banks, and contractors. It also supported databases tied to public procurement and a range of electronic government services.

RIA Novosti reported that on the same day, a notice appeared on the company’s official website acknowledging the breach.

Earlier, representatives of the same hacking group had claimed they managed to disable and erase the website of «Novosti Donbassa,» stating that roughly 500,000 of its publications were permanently lost as a result of the attack.
