Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia state, Doris Ogala, has knelt before the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, and apologised for her unruly behaviour during the previous court sitting.
Ogala, who was arraigned before Justice Akintayo Aluko on three count charges bordering on alleged cyber stalking, cyber bullying and attempted extortion of Pastor Chris Okafor, Monday expressed remorse over her conduct.
She promised that she would not repeat the behaviour which disrupted proceedings during the previous sitting.
The actress had been remanded at the correctional centre following her arraignment on October 28, 2026.
Ogala said: “I am very sorry, my Lord. I apologise for my bad behaviour. I have never been to prison before and I wasn’t expecting that I would do that.
“I regret my action and I apologise to my Lord. I tender my apologies wholeheartedly. Sorry, this will never happen again going forward,” she said.
Justice Aluko said Ogala’s shouting and singing disrupted proceedings and prevented the court from hearing seven other cases. He said he had considered committing her for contempt but “kept my cool.”
Ogala’s counsel, Marshal Abubakar, also apologised and urged the court to grant her bail on reasonable conditions.
However, prosecution counsel, Tolulope Mokolu, urged stringent conditions, citing concerns that Ogala’s social media activities could influence witnesses or interfere with proceedings.
After listening to the submissions of both parties, Justice Aluko reserved ruling on the bail application till November 6, 2026.
Ogala was subsequently returned to the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, where she will remain pending the court’s decision on her bail application.
