Cybercrime imposes a heavy cost on societies and weakens national economic security. However, existing structures to tackle the threat have proven to be inadequate.
Our research looks at all aspects of the cybercrime lifecycle, from the technical nature of cyber-criminal operations to data exploitation and the financial ‘cash out ’ phase. In doing so, we explore existing structures for combatting cybercrime and assess how a truly effective cross-sector collaboration could be achieved, as well as what it could do to reduce the threat from ransomware, cyber fraud and other online criminal pursuits.
