LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Michigan State University’s School of Criminal Justice will host a conference themed “Thinking Globally to Respond Locally to Cybercrime” this Friday, May 30th.
Experts from around the globe will participate in deliberating the rise of cybercrime and cybersecurity.
Topics for the event will include forensic research techniques, ransomware, the dark web, cryptocurrencies, and threats from hackers.
Professor Tom Holt of MSU’s School of Criminal Justice notes that no age group is immune to the threat of cybercrime, saying it’s common across the board and “sex-tortion has become a really prominent issue in the last few years, especially affecting minors.”
The conference takes place at the Henry Center and will last all day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
