SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — Detectives from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit arrested 34-year-old Darek Streeter, a Cottonwood man, on Tuesday following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. 

According to the sheriff’s office officials, Streeter was found communicating online about plans to drug and traffic young girls. A felony arrest warrant was issued for him on Friday, February 20.

Detectives, with the help of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Agents, arrested Streeter on Tuesday, February 24. Following the arrest, search warrants were conducted at two locations in Redding and Cottonwood.

Officials stated that Streeter is facing felony counts of possession of child pornography and parole violation. His bail is set at $50,000, with an active hold due to parole terms.
