Cyera Acquires Ryft To Extend Agentic AI Security Platform #AI

Cyera, a New York-based AI security platform valued at $9 billion, has acquired Ryft, a secure and automated data lake built for AI agents, in its fourth acquisition in five years. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is designed to accelerate Cyera’s roadmap for providing instantly traceable, secure data access for agentic AI at scale.

As enterprises accelerate AI adoption, autonomous systems and agents are increasingly accessing, analyzing, and acting on company data, often without adequate visibility, context, or controls. Cyera’s platform is built to address this challenge, giving organizations a clear understanding of their data, the identities accessing it, and the agents acting on it. The addition of Ryft extends that capability into the data lake layer, where AI agents increasingly operate.

Founded in 2024 and backed by Index Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners, Ryft built a platform designed to give enterprises greater control over how their data is managed and accessed in an era defined by AI. The company had already gained traction with global organizations including Sonos, Unity, and Voodoo before the acquisition.

The deal follows a period of rapid growth for Cyera. The company recently raised a $400 million Series F at a $9 billion valuation, tripling its valuation in just 12 months. Cyera’s platform is used by enterprises including Paramount, Chipotle, and Valvoline, and is backed by more than $1.7 billion from investors including Accel, Blackstone, Cyberstarts, Georgian, Lightspeed, and Sequoia. The company also recently achieved FedRAMP High “In Process” designation and was named a Leader in the Forrester Wave for Sensitive Data Discovery and Classification Solutions.

KEY QUOTES:

“Agents act differently. They shift identity based on the task, tools, and the chain of delegation from other agents. That’s why tracing and securing Agentic data use needs a different approach and infrastructure. The Ryft team brings deep expertise at the intersection of data and AI, and will play a key role as we build a unified control plane to help enterprises adopt agentic AI safely and at speed.”

Tamar Bar-Ilan, Co-Founder and CTO, Cyera

“In the age of AI, data is a company’s most strategic advantage. Enterprises shouldn’t have to choose between control and ease of use. From day one, our goal has been to give organizations the ability to fully own and govern their data, while still moving quickly. Joining Cyera allows us to take that vision further, bringing control and security together around the data enterprises depend on to power the next generation of AI.”

Yossi Reitblat, Co-Founder and CEO, Ryft
