A 28-year-old man from Anderson who had an in-home daycare was arrested following an undercover decoy operation in Shasta County, where he was caught attempting to meet with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl for sexual relations.

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office reported that in May, an undercover decoy posed as a 14-year-old girl on an online platform. Jayden Rosenstein, 28, began communicating with the decoy, sending explicit messages and attempting to arrange a meeting for sex.

Authorities obtained a felony arrest warrant for Rosenstein and arrested him on May 30, 2025, when he arrived to meet the minor. The Sheriff’s Office stated that items found on Rosenstein confirmed his intention to engage in sexual relations with the decoy.

Following Rosenstein’s arrest, police executed an additional warrant at his home on the 1900 block of Spruce Circle in Anderson. The residence was discovered to be operating as an in-home daycare. The children present were handed over to their legal guardians as the search continued.

The Sheriff’s Office said unsecured firearms and cannabis-related contraband were found in the home. Two children living at the residence were placed into protective custody.

Rosenstein was booked into the Shasta County Jail on multiple charges, including child endangerment, sending harmful material to a minor, and arranging to meet with a minor for sexual intent. His bail was set at $250,000.
