Detective Chris Ellis wrote that he was using a social media application June 19 with “an undercover account that showed to represent a female” when he was contacted by Fletcher, who “almost immediately began sending messages that were sexual in nature.”

After being told by Ellis that the person he was talking to was 14, Fletcher responded, “Holy [expletive], I’m talking to a 15-year-old and I’m 39 years old and my daughter is 13 years old and she’ll be 14 in end of August,” Ellis wrote. Fletcher was corrected on the age and reportedly continued sending messages about sexual acts despite being “told several times that the persona was 14 years of age and offered multiple avenues to end the conversation.”

“As the conversation progressed, Mr. Fletcher offered the persona a job,” Ellis wrote. “Mr. Fletcher stated that the persona’s duties would be ‘Having sex while cattle farming’” and then reportedly described a sexual scenario they would engage in.

He also reportedly sent nude pictures of himself and a video of him touching himself and asked that the persona send nude photos of herself.

On June 21, Ellis wrote that he “advised Mr. Fletcher that the persona’s mother had ‘said yes’ and was allowing her to move in with him.” He then reportedly agreed to come to Searcy to pick her up. Additional messages were sent “to ensure that he knew the age of the persona.”

When he was asked if he cared if the persona’s mother wasn’t going to be home when he arrived, he reportedly said, “I can after, so I feel like a kidnapper and rapist now.”

Fletcher reportedly was given the address June 22 and drove approximately 130 miles. When he got out of his vehicle, he “was taken into custody after being assisted to the ground.”

Lt. Scott Seiders said in June that when Fletcher arrived, he was “greeted by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the White County Sheriff’s Office, FBI Little Rock Field Office, Homeland Security and Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.”

When interviewed at the sheriff’s office, Fletcher reportedly admitted to “traveling for the purpose of having sexual intercourse with a minor he knew to be 14 years of age.”

Chief Deputy Clayton Edwards said the sting was part of an effort to expand “our online presence with detectives having received training in conducting sting operations on sexual predators. It’s horrible how easy it can be – we don’t have to look for these predators, they solicit us and come to us. I look forward to our investigators exposing more of this evil.”
