Charlotte County, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County (DOH-Charlotte) invites parents, expecting parents, grandparents, legal guardians, and caretakers to attend one of several free Child Safety and Wellness Workshops starting on Tuesday, October 13.
The classes will be held virtually every other Tuesday from 6–7 p.m.:
- October 13
- October 27
- November 10
- November 24
- December 8
“The Child Safety and Wellness Workshops help future or current parents and caregivers be prepared to properly install a car seat, keep kids safe during water activities, provide them nutritious meals, and understand the importance of maintaining safe sleeping practices for infants,” Health Officer Joseph Pepe said Monday.
Free pack and plays and car seats are available for participants who need them as supplies last. Car seats are subject to meeting qualifying criteria and household income requirements. Participants must call DOH-Charlotte at 941-624-7200 to inquire about these safety items.
