POCATELLO, ID (KOLO) – An accused child predator is in police custody following an investigation involving the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 25, 2025, a DCSO deputy serving as a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Reno Task Force Officer, engaged in an online conversation with 32 year-old James Martin. According to DCSO, the deputy posed as a 13-year-old girl and documented conversations with Martin, which ultimately resulted in Martin arranging a meeting with the child persona.

On February 13, Martin arrived at a prearranged location in Pocatello, Idaho, where he was arrested by HSI Idaho Falls, HSI Reno, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the Pocatello Police Department, and the Idaho ICAC Task Force. Martin is facing a charge of Coercion and Enticement of a Child for Sexual Activity under 18.
