eSafety calls on gaming platforms to strengthen child safety measures
Australia’s eSafety Commissioner has called on major online gaming providers to strengthen protections against child sexual exploitation and violent extremist content, following a transparency report that found significant differences in safety measures across Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft and Steam. The report, Playing it safe: how online game services are (or are not) keeping kids safe online, examines information provided to eSafety under compulsory notices issued to the four providers.
