A man is accused of hacking at the door of his partner’s Belle Vernon home with an ax while three children hid inside. A woman called authorities to report that her significant other was outside her Main Street home with an ax. When police arrived, they say they saw Matthew Parker on the porch of the home and an ax in front of the door.He was taken into custody. Authorities say when they entered the home, they found three children sitting on the stairs in front of the door, scared and crying.The woman who called authorities said she had picked Parker up from work the previous night and he had immediately took meth.According to an arrest report, Parker then chased her and her neighbors before leaving. The woman told authorities he eventually came back to the home and the family hid upstairs. Parker allegedly admitted to taking drugs, telling officers he had used the ax to try and get into the home to retrieve his phone. Parker is facing multiple charges, including reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment.
